I have read Carolyn Faulkner's stories and though she sometimes manages to write interesting discipline scenes she is a terrible writer. Her characters are boring and unbelievable and each story is a carbon copy of the one before it. Has she never heard the adage "show, don't tell"? If you have to tell me how cute you are, you ain't cute! Can you recommend a more clever writer in this genre?

Kelly Hannaford

The vast majority of Carolyn Faulkner's readers do not share your opinion. That being said, you might try The Captain's Ladies by Dorothy Nash.

I love the way this site captures the essense of Romance. I'm anxious to try one of the free reads. I downloaded them and opened one and the books are just as lovely as the site. The only thing is I can't read with music. I'm a queit reader but I can turn that off. It does put you in the romantic mood though!

PS I didn't notice any books viewable by genres. Is there any sub generes to romance here or is it all just considered romance whether historical or romantic comedy?

Maria

Thank you for your comments. The music is nice, but many did find it distracting. We have since discontinued the practice of including music within our ebooks.

We do need to do a better job of separating the genres.

I love reading and I love reading romance books. There's not usually a book that I don't read and not like or one that I can't finish. I stumbled upon your site and thought I'd give the free reads a try before I would consider purchasing a book. I read Civil War and was disappointed. I read Lonely Hearts and was disgusted. I thought I might as well try the third one about Maggie and didn't finish the second chapter. I'm so glad I didn't waste my money on these books. I wish I hadn't wasted my time on them. Do all of the books on your site deal with spankings? If not, you should consider having free reads that don't parrot each other. If so, I would not call these books romance fiction but instead S&M fiction.

Lesley

We're sorry some of our authors didn't meet your taste or expectations. In the past, spanking was always prevalent in the genre. It is currently making a resurgence. And while some, particularly those with historical content, may even appear harsh, it hardly qualifies as S&M. No! All our ebooks do not contain spankings. Thank you for your comment. .. FR

I've never seen anything like this on other e-book sites that I've visited.

I would love to purchase a few books, but I have a question...after I purchase the e-book, am I able to save it to a disk from your site, so I may "take" the book with me wherever I go?

Thank you.

A good friend who now writes for a little magazine, of which I am a partner and editor, sent me this URL which she received in an email. Of course I had to look...

You have created a beautiful site, and as one who is slowly climing the ladder of internet technability, I am impressed by what you have accomplished - a work of art to showcase literary works of art.

Constructing your 'publishing house' obvioulsy required great skill and an artistic sense combined. Well done.

Your 'stable of writers' also contains a number of ladies whose consumate skill with words is well known to me, or was, at least.

To me it is good to see that Jordi has at last been recognized by you for the accomplished writer she is. Of those whose work you publish, she has always been a favourite, perhaps the favourite. Not just a 'sentimental favourite' but one admired for her high level of creative skill. Sadly, the work you showcase here is one I doubt I'll ever be able to enjoy...

The lady who sent me the link to this site is one whose work, as you have discovered, is also of the highest order.

Whether created beyond a moat, within a castle's all-enfolding walls, or within a ferry's ride of Manhattan's towers, it matters not. You have done it well.

Raising a glass of The Glenlivet, Sir, "Congratulations, and of course, 'Slainte!"

I found your site very pleasing to look at and view. It was well organized. Unfortunately, you have a MAJOR drawback. Please remove the midi's. They're only slightly pretty pieces of music, and cause everything to run *extremely* slow. Rather than enhance your site, they make it so annoying as to cause the user to want to give up and go elsewhere. At the least, please include a well-marked link to allow the user to go to a sound-less site, or turn off the midi's. I looked for such a link, but did not find one.
As I said, annoying and unnecessary midi's aside, the site is very well designed and enjoyable. I will most likely return to purchase from your site in the future. Probably after I've built or bought a pc fast enough to minimize my annoyance with the music ;>
Cat

cat

Thank you for your gracious comments on our site. Like an author, it's always an added pleasure when others enjoy and appreciate your work.

As for sound, that's simply a matter of personal taste, but we do thank you for pointing out that the music controls were missing from our entry level pages; an oversight on our part.

The lengthy page download time is not the product of sound but rather that of extensive graphic content. We have recently cut that by 50%, but still we've been unable to reach an acceptable page load time. A redesign is presently underway.

We look forward to seeing you again soon. .. FR
